We like to start with a puppy application, that get’s us the information we need to talk with you about what you are looking for in your puppy and get your contact info.
Then from there you can make a litter reservation, or select a currently available puppy, and then we will give you instructions for final payment and puppy pick-up day. We also give you continued support with information to make your puppy’s transition into your home successful.

Now that you have completed the puppy application, what are the next steps?
You will receive an email back from Hawaii Goldens. Don’t miss these important emails! Please check your spam folder, as our website emails can sometimes get stuck there until HawaiiGoldens@gmail.com is added or starred in your trusted email list.

Trupanion Health insurance- we send each puppy home with a gift of a month of free health insurance as an extra safety net. We love our puppies and want to make sure they are well cared for! Inner island travel info and guide (if needed).
Once you decide to move forward, the instructions in the first welcome email explain how to submit your litter reservation contract and fee. Additionally, if you are requesting the first or second litter pick, you will have these options at this time.
You will then receive an acknowledgement of the litter reservation fee and contract. If we have puppies ready, you will be informed of your meet and greet time! We are excited to meet you and share all about the puppies and their temperament testing to guide you in your selection and set everyone up for success!
If you are waiting on a breeding and/or a litter to be born, we will keep you up to date on the breeding, pregnancy, and sending announcement photos shortly after the puppies arrive, and throughout their early days. We will welcome you over when the puppies are 6+ weeks old for meet and greets. The puppies will be ready to come home with you after their vet visit, and AKC registration paperwork is completed, around age 7-9 weeks.

Inner-island puppy travel is simple.
Here are the steps:
1. Call the airlines prior to flight to let them know you are flying home with a pet on board (required). They ask you the weight of the animal over the phone. It can’t be over 20 lbs puppy+soft carrier. Hawaiian and Southwest both charge a $35 fee.
2. Bring the puppy to the ticket agent to check in for the flight. They won’t let you check in on the app prior. The ticket agent weighs the puppy and the carrier together to check the weight. Once the weight checks out, you fill out a form, they tag the soft carrier and you pay the $35 fee.
Note: They usually don’t measure the carrier. They just ask if the puppy has enough room to move around.
3. TSA – you will need to remove your puppy from the soft carrier and carry your puppy through the metal detector in your arms. They don’t inspect your puppy. Once you walk through, that is it, and you place puppy back in carrier.
***Good to have on hand is a small ziplock of food/treats, 2 extra doggie potty pads, a toy, a towel, baby wipes, paper towels, and a collapsible bowl for water in a backpack.

Our Exclusive American Dream Goldendoodles are $4,300. The AKC Golden Retrievers with AKC papers are $5,500
Your puppy’s socialization starts with the parent dogs, and additionally, human family as we go on daily excursions safely when the puppies are very young (ex: loading them up in the suburban, and heading to park in the shade at the mall with the windows down and AC on, so they can hear and smell all the things. Or taking them to Home Depot in a cart with a blanket 3 at a time, experiencing all the sights, sounds, people safely and in positive, encouraging ways) , positively exposing them to the world around them as we work on ENS, basic training, and Puppy Culture to help bring them positive associations and socialization with the outside world, busy places, and learning new things (especially being able to be comfortable around sudden loud noises like Fireworks)! We have friends and family members who are very proficient in puppy culture raising and help us daily with the puppies.With lots of love, cuddles and affection, your puppy has experienced amazing beginnings!
